Is Your Representative Worthy of Reelection?
We need to empty the halls of Congress and Senate of every one of our representatives that have violated their Oath of Office to obey and protect the Constitution of the United Sates. Any time they vote for a bill that challenges any part of the Constitution is clear intent of violating that oath. These 'employees' of 'we the people' are completely aware of these violations that they foist off using incomprehensible legalese in their bills and need to be terminated if not prosecuted.
The entire blueprint of the workings of our government is covered in about 17 legal size pages known as the Bill of Rights and Constitution. Can someone tell me why most of the draconian bills put forth by our elected employees are comprised of thousands of pages of incomprehensible legalese?
From the results of the last hundred years of the two party system, one would be tempted to throw out all incumbents of both parties and replace them with independents. I have heard many propose voting in all independents, but if no independent candidate, at least vote out the incumbent.
As ever, labeling ALL incumbents as bad is throwing the baby out with the bathwater. There are a FEW incumbents worthy of reelection. The noteworthy example is Ron Paul. Although a Republican, he ran on the Libertarian ticket for President and certainly does not follow party lines.
Brief Overview of Congressman Paul's Record:
He has never voted to raise taxes.
He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
He has never voted to raise congressional pay.
He has never taken a government-paid junket.
He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch.
He voted against the Patriot Act.
He voted against regulating the Internet.
He voted against the Iraq war.
He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program.
He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year.
Congressman Paul introduces numerous pieces of substantive legislation each year, probably more than any single member of Congress. Noteworthy is his efforts to audit the Federal Reserve and his fiscal responsible approach to economic issues.
My approach to finding those worthy of reelection is to compare their voting records to that of Ron Paul's. Any that mirror his record, by say 90%, should be keepers. Give the rest the pink slip!
